Annual Heritage AwardsMember of the Year
In 1998, the Heritage Association began the annual tradition of honoring a member for his or her outstanding service to the Association. A nominee for this award must have been a member of the Heritage Association for at least five years. Criteria for the award include the following: (1) contribution of one’s time, energy and efforts to further the cause and mission of the Heritage Association (2) positive promotion of the Heritage Association and its purposes within the local community (3) active, consistent involvement in the projects, committees and activities of the Association (4) demonstration of leadership, cooperation and initiative. Any member of Heritage may submit a nomination for this award. The nominations are evaluated by the Awards Committee and the member selected is recognized at the annual meeting. *Community Volunteer of the Year In 1998, the Heritage Association began the annual tradition of honoring a member or couple for volunteerism and service to the local community. For the purposes of this award, a volunteer is one who demonstrates creativity, initiative, cooperation and leadership through service, without monetary compensation for the work performed. Nominees for this award may be individuals or couples who have been members of the Heritage Association for at least five years and who: (1) contribute time, energy and efforts to more than one area of community service (2) make a significant, positive impact on the local community through volunteer work (3) exemplify the spirit of community service (4) serve as a role model for others and (5) inspire others to engage in volunteer service. Any member of Heritage may submit a nomination for this award. The nominations are evaluated by the Awards Committee and the member (or couple) selected is recognized at the annual meeting.
